Abandoned hero, neglected villain

An article in today's Al-Akhbar features Shartouni citing, among other things, his less-than-perfect relationship with the SSNP.A 1982 poster from the signs-of-conflict archive is at odds with this description. The poster celebrates the 'hero' and calls for his freedom. An issue Shartouni says 30 years later is "not so much a legal case, as a political and national one..."What happened? Why is the "Hero of the Bashir Gemayel assassination operation", as the poster states, not so poster-worthy anymore? At least not for the SSNP? Interestingly, the same image is used both in the 82 poster and in today's article. A quick search suggests a shortage in photographic representations of the handsome hero-villain, but the relevance of the resurfacing archive remains intact. Read Al-Akhbar article.
